Premier League confirm TV plans for Newcastle United's fixtures in February

The Premier League has confirmed that all Premier League games throughout February will be shown live in the UK.

Supporters briefly returned to some stadiums in England over the Christmas period for the first time since March, with clubs in Tier 2 allowed to welcome 2,000 supporters.

That was short-lived, though, as the UK entered its third national lockdown in under 12 months at the start of January. Newcastle United fans weren't able to visit St James' Park at the back end of 2020 as the area was never below Tier 3, meaning supporters haven't seen the Magpies in the flesh yet this season.

As a result, The Premier League has confirmed all matches will be shown live on TV through Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime and the BBC to ensure supporters are still able to watch their teams.

A statement on Wednesday afternoon said: "All Premier League fixtures from Saturday 30 January to the last weekend of February will be made available to fans to watch live in the United Kingdom.

"Matches will continue to be shown via the existing services of broadcast partners Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime Video and BBC.

"Details of all contracted broadcast selections will be announced today, along with early additional selections. Confirmation of the remaining fixtures, up to Matchweek 26, will follow in due course.

"The Premier League and its clubs are committed to an accessible solution for fans. These plans have been made with the cooperation of our broadcast partners, working with us to deliver these additional matches while stadiums are missing the supporters who are such an integral part of the game."

The Premier League was put under fierce scrutiny after initially charging supporters £14.95 for extra matches outside broadcasters' usual slots but were forced to backtrack after mass outrage and widespread criticism.
