Everton have been dealt a seemingly good omen for their clash against Newcastle at the weekend, with the news that referee Stuart Attwell is taking charge of the match.
Attwell has refereed 12 games for the Blues in the last 11 years, and Everton have come out on the losing side just once.
In those 12 matches, Everton have come out on the winning side six times, the most recent of which was the 1-0 win over Sheffield United in July.
The only defeat Carlo Ancelotti's side have suffered with Attwell officiating came in the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in February.
Ancelotti's team have made a fantastic start to the Premier League season, with four wins and a draw from their opening six games leaving them joint top of the table with rivals Liverpool.
The manager will be hoping his side can bounce back from a disappointing defeat last time out against Southampton, however.
Ralph Hasenhuttl's side claimed a 2-0 win thanks to goals in the first half from James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams.
Everton were not helped in their efforts to get back into the game following Lucas Digne's red card in the second half.
The left-back was sent off for standing on Kyle Walker-Peters' heel, but despite his suspension reduced from three matches to one, he will be absent for the clash against Newcastle.
