League Managers Association chief executive Richard Bevan has warned that the 2019-20 Premier League season could be cancelled if clubs do not agree to play in neutral venues.
Negotiations are still ongoing about how the 2019/20 Premier League season will be completed, with a June 12 restart date still on the agenda.
In a proposal delivered to all 20 Premier League clubs last Friday, the league proposed that the season would be finished in eight to 10 neutral stadiums.
With 92 games of the season still to be played, time is of the essence to complete the campaign.
Talks are expected to ramp up next week, with Boris Johnson set to address the nation on Sunday over lockdown measures to combat COVID-19.
However, with teams fighting relegation opposing the current suggestions of neutral stadiums, Bevan has warned that the season may not finish if they fail to comply.
Bevan told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "Yes, I think that probably is correct."
He added: "The government, if they haven't already, will be making it clear that home matches with densely populated stadia, really puts into question whether social distancing rules can be adhered to."
