Premier League club 'willing to offer £12m' for Nottingham Forest star

West Ham are prepared to pay £12m for Nottingham Forest’s in-form right-back Matty Cash, according to reports.

Cash’s terrific form in the back four this season has alerted clubs, with the likes of AC Milan, Everton and Southampton said to be interested in the Reds’ academy graduate.

Now, the Sun claim the Premier League outfit would be prepared to spend £12m on Cash, which is understood to be well below Forest’s valuation of £18m, despite the Championship club being far from keen to sell.

Speaking after Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw with Reading at the City Ground, Reds head coach Sabri Lamouchi made his feelings on Cash’s possible departure abundantly clear, after it was claimed Forest had rejected Milan’s overtures.

“In English, it is ‘no way’. No way. No way," said the defiant Frenchman.

“No way. Don’t talk about players going out. We want to talk about players who can come in.

“We are doing well.

“I am very close to my players, because we need to focus on the pitch.

“We need to focus on what they are doing now together. That is the most important thing.

“They are doing very well, and Cashy also.

“From the beginning he has been an important player.

“At the beginning it was a surprise, the first game, here against West Brom - the first goal from him.

“He is improving, but he still needs to learn and to work in this position.”
