Burnley are said to be "snooping around" Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash.
Cash has been the subject of plenty of top-flight speculation in the past, as well as catching the eye of Italian giants AC Milan in January.
He signed a new long-term deal at the City Ground last November, which would tie him to the club until 2023.
But Forest may well face a fight to keep hold of him - especially following the sudden end to their promotion dream.
Cash sent a message to Forest fans this week, after their failure to finish in the Championship play-offs.
“After reflecting on the past week and taking time to understand what happened, I just want to say thank you to everyone for the continued support all season,” he wrote on Twitter.
“You have been truly remarkable, we must move on from this now and stay positive ready for a massive season ahead."
