Premier League cannot hide how happy it is to have Leeds United back

Premier League have welcomed Leeds United back to the top flight after their promotion on Friday night at Huddersfield Town.

West Bromwich Albion’s loss to the Terriers in the Championship ensured they could no longer catch the Whites with one match remaining.

That result triggered wild scenes of celebration in Leeds and outside Elland Road, where the players were gathered to watch the match in Huddersfield.

Once the promotion was confirmed, a cascade of social media activity came to life with the return of one of the country’s biggest clubs to the top table of English football.

The Premier League’s official Twitter account heralded the return with a highlights reel of the club’s finest moments since 1992.

Tony Yeboah’s goal at Selhurst Park, Ian Harte’s free-kick against Manchester United, Carlton Palmer’s strike at Wimbledon, Michael Bridges’s flick at Filbert Street, Rod Wallace’s strike at Ewood Park and one of Mark Viduka’s goals against Liverpool all made the edit.
