Premier League boss discusses future of Nottingham Forest striker target

Brighton boss Graham Potter says he will let Nottingham Forest target Glenn Murray have the final say on his future.

The Reds are understood to have placed the 36-year-old on a shortlist of striker targets ahead of the January transfer window, according to The Athletic, as Sabri Lamouchi looks to bolster his firepower.

Murray has generally found himself on the bench for Albion this season, with 10 of his 14 appearances so far this term coming as a substitute.

He is said to be happy with the Seagulls, although keen for more playing time.

Potter says he is hopeful the front man will stay with the Premier League side, but will leave it to Murray to decide what happens

“He has been really important in what we have achieved here so far,” the Brighton boss told The Argus.

“He has helped the younger players. He has helped Aaron (Connolly). He has helped Neal (Maupay).

“He is a really important member of the group.

“At the same time, I respect his career. I respect where he is at and what he has done for this club.

“Ultimately, Glenn decides really in that respect, but hopefully he wants to stay here and be a part of what we are doing. He has been great for us.”
