Premier League announce positive COVID-19 results from latest round of testing

A total of two people from two different clubs have tested positive for coronavirus in the Premier League.

Following tests at all clubs on Thursday and Friday, the Premier League have announced the new results, with two people testing positive from 1,200 carried out.

The 2019/20 season is set to resume on Wednesday night with Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Manchester City vs Arsenal.

The positive tests are not expected to change that, but it may lead to slight concern after only a total of two positive tests from the last round rounds of testing combined.

Premier League TV fixtures in June

One person from one club tested positive on the round conducted on June 8 and 9, with none on June 4 and 5. One person tested positive on June 1 and 2 with none on May 28 and 29.

No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the league and results will be made public after each round of testing.

The two people who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days.
