Premier Inn investigates claims of 'staff party' at Welsh hotel

An investigation has been launched after pictures emerged of an apparent staff party at a Welsh hotel.

It has been claimed that the pictures were from a 'leaving party' for a member of staff at the Premier Inn in Holyhead, Anglesey, on Friday, January 29.

Pictures from the night were passed to North Wales Live and appear to show hotel workers come together for a photograph and seemingly not maintain social distancing.

All Premier Inn hotels in Wales are currently closed in line with the Welsh Government Level 4 guidance.

The current lockdown restrictions in Wales prohibit such gatherings.

People are not allowed to socialise indoors or outdoors with anyone outside of their household.

In workplaces all reasonable measures should be taken to minimise the risk of exposure to coronavirus.

This includes adhering to social distancing rules wherever possible.

A spokesperson for Premier Inn said: “Our Holyhead hotel is currently closed in line with current government guidance.

"We have clear safety procedures in place for our team members to follow. We are investigating the circumstances surrounding this gathering and speaking with the team members involved."
