Premier Inn fire closes A4018 Cribbs Causeway Road to traffic as First Bus services disrupted

The fire at Cribbs Causeway's Premier Inn hotel has led to the closure of a major road.

The A4018 (Cribbs Causeway Road) is closed to all traffic in both directions between Clifton Rugby Club and Lysander Road. All bus services are being diverted.

First Bus has tweeted: "Due to a fire road closed in both directions between Clifton Rugby Club and Lysander Rd in both directions.

"Shuttle service going via Hayes Rd, A38, Southmead Rd, Pen Park Road & Knole Lane in both directions.

"Unable to serve Station Road and Wyck Beck Rd until further notice."

The fire started on the third floor at around 1.20pm. It has spread to the roof, causing black smoke to billow, visible from miles away.
