Premier Inn bosses vow to rebuild Cribbs Causeway hotel after huge fire

Bosses have vowed to rebuild a Premier Inn hotel at Cribbs Causeway following last week's huge blaze.

Flames first erupted at the complex at 1:27pm on Wednesday (July 17) .

Despite emergency crews racing to hotel on Catbrain Lane, the fire took hold and parts of the building collapsed onto the A4018 - which was then closed for four days.

More than 60 firefighters worked round the clock for days to tackle flames and damp down the area.

Demolition work took place over the weekend, bringing the hotel's carcass to the ground.

A spokesperson for the chain confirmed a new Premier Inn would be rebuilt at the same location.

She also issued advice to customers who lost possessions in the blaze.

"People would have had the chance to take some belongings before leaving, depending on whether they were in their rooms at the time," she said.

"However, regrettably some of our guests will have lost possessions. We’ve already proactively contacted our guests in relation to this.

"We’re asking guests to make sure they keep hold of their receipts for any essential items purchased in relation to the incident, which we will refund as soon as possible.

"The remainder is being handled by our insurance company."
