Premier Foods up as CEO announces retirement

Premier Foods CEO Robert Schofield has announced his retirement, prompting the shares to lift slightly.

In a statement the group said Schofield would go by the end of April next year at the latest.

A search process has begun to identify his successor, to be led by chairman Ronnie Bell.

The shares were up 3% to £31.69 at 11:00, with the FTSE 100 up 2 points as a whole at 6,070.
