Pregnant woman wets herself after Royal Mail staff refuse to let her use toilet

An embarrassed mum-to-be has wet herself after Royal Mail delivery office staff refused her use of the loo.

Desperate Chelsea Hastie is due to give birth on Christmas Day and was picking up a parcel from when she realised she had no chance of getting home in time.

The 23-year-old claims she asked if she could use the toilet, but says workers told her it was for Royal Mail staff only - and she was turned away.

Chelsea, of Newport, Gwent, said: "I was dying for the toilet and when I went to collect my parcel I said, ‘Excuse me, could I use the toilet?’

"The man said: "No". I explained that I was eight months pregnant, but he didn’t even say sorry."

Chelsea asked a second worker as she sat outside the office, but was again told "no".

Chelsea said the pressure of the baby sitting low on her bladder caused her to wet herself on the way home from the Newport city centre delivery office.

"It’s embarrassing. I was crying so much later,” she said.

Her father Desmond Hastie said her treatment was "disgusting."

"It’s dreadful, she’s eight months pregnant. She told the worker she was busting.”

A spokeswoman for the Royal Mail said: “We’re very sorry to hear about this customer’s experience.

“We will ensure that we discuss this incident with our colleagues.”
