Police want to speak to this man after a pregnant woman was punched in the stomach at a Wigan train station.

The horrific attack happened at Atherton station on May 2.

The victim, a pregnant woman, was punched in the stomach before having her purse stolen.

She was taken to hospital and thankfully, does not have any lasting injuries.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers have now released a picture of 31-year-old Dean Smith from Atherton.

He is 'urgently' wanted for questioning in connection to the robbery and assault.

Despite conducting 'extensive enquiries', officers haven't been able to trace him, a BTP spokesperson said in a statement.

They are now appealing for anyone who knows where he is to get in touch.

Smith is believed to be local to the Atherton area.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to contact BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2100030550.
