Pregnant woman left distraught after mum plays cruel prank during gender reveal

An expecting mum has been left feeling devastated after her own mother played a cruel prank at her gender reveal party.

Soon-to-be mum-of-two Ashlee recently celebrated her gender reveal, where family and friends gathered to see her pop a balloon to reveal whether her unborn baby would be a girl or a boy.

Ashlee ( @dinkymisspretty ), from the United States, already has a son, so was absolutely overjoyed and overcome with emotion when she popped the balloon and saw pink confetti flying in front of her face, signalling she's having a baby girl - or so she first thought.

Posting a clip to her TikTok, Ashlee showed the moment she burst the balloon at her gender reveal, and if you look closely you can see the confetti coming out of the balloon is actually blue, but at that exact moment, her mum decided to shoot a cannon of pink confetti right in her face.

It's hard to understand why any mum would want to play with her own daughter's emotions like that, especially when they're pregnant.

Ashlee can be seen jumping up and down with joy at seeing the pink confetti, only for her face to turn to thunder when her little boy came over to tell her what her mum had done.

"Clearly you can see I wanted a girl so bad and in that moment I felt like I hit the lottery," the mum says in the clip, adding: "Then here comes my son making me realise its really another boy. I was p***ed."

"This is the only one I can actually be okay with the parent being mad. Cause why play like that," one follower commented, to which Ashlee responded: "Right, I wasn't mad it was a boy I was mad they had me think it was a girl."

Another added: "Now see this reaction is valid because you can’t play with a pregnant woman’s emotions like that. I’m sure you’ll have a beautiful baby boy though."
