Pregnant Strictly star Janette Manrara shares glimpse inside gorgeous surprise baby shower organised by two famous pals

Janette Manrara was reunited with some of her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars after a couple of her famous pals put their heads together and pulled out all the stops to organise her a gorgeous surprise baby shower.

Professional dancer Katya Jones and former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts joined forced to organise the very special event for their friend who is set to welcome her first child into the world this summer with her fellow former Strictly star husband Aljaž Škorjanec, who she wed in 2007.

Janette and Aljaž announced the wonderful news they were expecting back in February with their bundle of joy due this summer. Aljaz and Janette, who has since gone on to host the spin-off of the BBC One show, were just about to start IVF treatment when they found out Janette was pregnant.

As she counts down the days to her baby's arrival, in a video posted to her Instagram story, busy mum-ot-be Janette was showered with love at a Winne the Pooh inspired baby shower.

Dragons' Den star Sara Davies, who was partnered with Aljaž when she was on Strictly, took to her Instagram page to tell her followers about Janette's baby shower. She wrote on a post to her Stories: "So the reason I was on the train to London early this morning was because @katyajones and @iamashleyroberts were throwing a surprise baby shower for our lovely Janette!

"It was just beautiful! @alijazskorjanec’s sister — @laralijubic flew over yesterday to get the room ready with all the fabulous balloons and decorations."

And it was just the baby shower itself that was the surprise as Janette's friends organised for her mother to be flown in to surprise her. Sharing a string of stunning images from the special occasion, Janette penned to her 537K followers: "So yesterday I walked into the most beautiful surprise #BabyShower!

"@iamashleyroberts @katyajones & my sister @missleslymarie back home, along w/an epic baby shower committee, organised the most beautiful afternoon! And the best part, they flew my mom over from Miami as a surprise! I had no idea! And @aljazskorjanec sister @laraljubic came from Slovenia as well, just for the day!"

She added: "I have never felt more lucky and loved! Thank you does not say enough how grateful I am for my amazing friends & family." And expectant mum Janette, 39, couldn't have looked happier as was seen cradling her blossoming bump amongst the balloons, and held a special one that read: "Janette's baby shower."

Janette was also seen posing in front of a cute Winne the Pooh wall mural with her pals and beloved mum. The Strictly It Takes Two host has since returned to Instagram with a video featuring more pictures and videos from her baby shower, which was held at 1 Warwick, a six-storey members’ house in Soho, London.

"The #babyshower setting was absolutely beautiful! It was at @1warwicksoho and they looked after us so well! And the CAKE and sweets! Thank you @eric_lanlard for the perfect cake!" Janette, who looked beautiful in a white laced maxi dress, wrote alongside the post.

And fans were quick to respond to Janette's posts. @annabell0782 said: "Possibly the most beautiful and class filled baby shower pics I’ve ever seen. How stunning!" @disneymanrara replied: "Aww how sweet!! Love the Winnie the Pooh theme as well! What a lovely surprise!" @jennalynncosta added: "You’re glowing."

Janette has recently opened up about her birth plans and shared how she being advised to have an elective C-section. She said she was told by doctors that due to the size of her baby being bigger than average that it would be a safer option.

"It looks like we have a bigger than average size baby, but I’m not an average size human and because of the width of my hips it’s advised that I get a C-section," she told Hello! magazine.
