A Scots beauty blogger has tested positive for coronavirus just weeks after revealing the gender of her baby.
Simone Shoffman, who is originally from Bothwell, announced just a few weeks ago that she was expecting a baby boy with her husband Jason, but in an emotional post over the weekend, told her followers that she had been in and out of hospital. She said: "POSITIVE WITH COVID-19 & PREGNANT. Unfortunately after getting sick a couple of weeks ago and thinking I was better, I got a lot worse this week. I’ve been in and out of hospital and have tested positive for covid-19.
"This thing is no joke. I feel so sh**, all I can do is sleep at the moment and it feels like someone is constantly standing on my chest. I think I’m not doing too well because of my asthma.
"Mentally I’m totally over this and I am desperate to feel remotely human again. It’s hard to have to go into hospital alone, worry that the baby is okay and not get really upset all the time.
"The NHS staff who have looked after me are great and really doing their best. Please continue to stay at home. This thing is not a joke and it’s scary and traumatising for the people who are in the higher risk category."
Simone, who now lives in London, first featured in the Daily Record in 2016 when her Disney proposal went viral.
Her then boyfriend Jason, planned an epic engagement surprise as he organised an art exhibition where he had created artwork that featured the couple in scenes from Disney films.
Simone is also very popular on her Instagram for giving the best tips on how to look after your skin.
Her page, Skin by SiSi has over 8000 followers and many of them sent her well wishes including singer Pixie Lott.
