A mum has shared her recipe to make a McDonald's Big Mac complete with its famous sauce at home during lockdown - and it’s incredibly simple.
Elise Clark, 25, who is eight months pregnant, created the iconic burger to curb her cravings while her favourite fast-food chain is closed.
The mum-of-one, from Nuneaton, shared her recipe on Facebook group Rate My Plate, describing the dish as "simple and delicious" using store cupboard ingredients.

She told the Record: "I am almost 38 weeks pregnant and have been craving a McDonald's since the day it closed. So one day, I stood up, brushed myself off and made a huge Big Mac".
So how did she make it? Here's the recipe for the McDonald's Big Mac fakeaway:
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 300g mince meat
- Garlic powder
- Grated onion
- A pinch of salt and pepper
- Sesame seed buns (1 × top and 2 x bottom bun)
- Cheese slices

Sauce:
-
300ml mayonnaise
-
200ml ketchup
-
1 tsp English mustard
-
A pinch of salt and pepper
-
1 level tsp paprika
-
Diced onion
-
Diced gherkins

Method:
- Mix all of the sauce ingredients together and set aside
- Bind the meat, garlic, onion, egg and seasoning together thoroughly and shape into thin, wide patties (they shrink when cooking)
- Fry with a dash of oil on each side for approx 2/3 minutes
- Put the patties in the oven at 180C for roughly15 minutes
- Starting with the bottom bun, add the Big Mac sauce, lettuce, gherkins, 1 x patty, a slice of cheese
- Place another bottom bun on top and then - sauce, lettuce, gherkins, patty, cheese - then top of the bun
The end result should be a delicious Big Mac lookalike that will curb the cravings until McDonald's reopens its doors.
