Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas stunned their celebrity mates by announcing their baby news tonight - and it turns out even some of their closest family members didn't know.
The pair had managed to keep their news secret and many of their loved ones only found out through the Instagram announcement.
The couple shared their baby news this evening, confirming they are going to become parents in the coming months.
Lucy, 28, posted a picture of her baby bump on Instagram , and was bombarded with messages from her surprised friends.
It turns out the couple had been keeping the news quiet from even their closest friends and family - as Ryan's brother Adam was blindsided by the news.
He wrote: "What!!! Is this a wind up? Am gonna be an uncle!!! OS happy. Congrats guys!!"
Lucy's mate Lydia Bright is also pregnant with her first child and she was quick to comment on the post.
She wrote: "Wohooooooooo, we can finally scream it from the roof tops. Can’t wait for our babies to be best friends."
Lucy then replied: "bubbas that r besties! love you.. our secrets r finally out."
Strictly star Catherine Tyldesley, who used to work with Ryan on Corrie added: "Oh my GOD!!!!! Congratulations guys!!!!! Amazing
Another fellow soap star Brooke Vincent wrote: "So exciting."
Lucy also got messages from her former Towie co-stars, including Amber Dowding and Courtney Green.
Other pals who expressed their delight over the surprise baby news include Ashley James, Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn and Made In Chelsea's Rosie Fortescue.
It's Lucy's first child, but Ryan, 35, has a daughter from his previous relationship with Tina O'Brien.
The baby news comes just weeks after the couple got engaged on holiday.
Ex Coronation Street actor Ryan popped the question to reality star Lucy, 28, on a romantic trip to Italy in June after two years of dating.
