Pregnant Louisa Lytton admitted the early stages were "tricky" because she faced "anxiety and nerves".
The EastEnders actress, 32, and her fiancé Ben Bhanvra, 30, announced they were expecting their first baby.
But the first 12 weeks of pregnancy were "really tricky" for the soap star as she was battling "a lot of nerves and anxiety".
Emotional Louisa described her early pregnancy as a "whirlwind of worry, panic and sickness".
Once she had her 12-week scan, she felt herself able to relax at last.
She told OK! magazine : "The first 12 weeks were really tricky. You’re dealing with a lot of nerves and anxiety because there’s chances of things going wrong, so I was just trying to protect myself instead of getting too excited or really believing what was happening. It was a whirlwind of worry, panic and sickness.

"I was really sick! But once I had that 12-week scan, my whole body relaxed. After that I felt like I could accept and enjoy what was happening."
Being a mum was something Louisa had always dreamed of.
She added: "You wait so long and being a mum is something I’ve always dreamed of and wanted, so for the first few months to be so anxious and nervous is not how I expected to feel when I found out. It’s still a constant worry, but feeling movement is really nice."

The couple have no worries about welcoming their baby before going ahead with their spectacular wedding.
Louisa and Ben have had to postpone their wedding twice and now they've cancelled it altogether amid the coronavirus pandemic.
They will start their lavish plans from scratch once again after originally planning to have 200 people gather for the special day.

They decided to commit to their relationship when the happy lovebirds got engaged in 2019.
Louisa rocketed to fame as Ruby Allen in EastEnders.
She told the Loose Women panel in March: "We have cancelled it. I said let's stop trying and now officially it could go ahead but it's too late now, it's all gone out of the window!"
