Lauren Goodger has revealed that her pregnancy has led to her reconnecting with her estranged father and his side of the family.
The 34-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star announced in January that she was expecting a baby with boyfriend Charles Drury and has since said that they are having a baby girl.
Lauren has now spoken out about how the news of her pregnancy has led to family members reaching out to her, years after she had last spoken to them.
The reality star said that she has also been in touch with her dad after they lost touch when she was in her late teens.
They have had a complicated relationship since Lauren's parents split when she was a child but now she is enjoying getting to know him all over again.
Speaking to New magazine, the reality star revealed: "I left my dad when I was younger. I did my own thing, lived with my mum, got into a very serious relationship at 15 and went back and forth between his and my mum’s.
"My dad lost that relationship with me, so we don’t actually know each other that well, but I know that he loves me. Even my dad’s mum, we’ll chat on the phone and there’s a lot of childhood memories and she says, ‘Your dad does love you.’"
Lauren added" "My family isn’t perfect but I’m a very family-orientated person.
"I’ve made it very clear for years that I want to have a baby and get married, because I’m a family girl.
"Everything is brilliant that’s come out of this pregnancy. The feedback has been good."
Lauren said that her dad has not liked her being a reality star and "hates" the fame but she said: "He’s not interested in it, but they are very happy and they really like Charlie."
