Laura Anderson is expecting her first child with former Hollyoaks actor, Gary Lucy - but just months before falling for the soap legend, the Scottish star was undergoing fertility treatment.
The former Love Island star, 33, fell for Gary, 41, last summer when the pair both appeared on Celebs Go Dating.
However, before her romance with Gary, Laura had long harboured dreams of becoming a mother, and speaking to the agents during her Celebs Go Dating stint, Laura admitted that she and her former partner, Dane Bowers had spoken about having children before their breakup.
Despite the fact that Laura had previously told Vicky Pattison on her The Secret To podcast that she didn't want to undergo IVF, she later revealed that she and Dane had started receiving fertility treatment.
Laura said she had been struggling to fall pregnant after spending years on the pill.
She told Vicky on the podcast: "We started trying really quickly. I've been on the pill for years - just so long I was on the pill - and I thought 'do you know what, this probably is not that good for my body'. And I was just like 'should I just come off it and we won't 100% try'.
"But I got the app so I tracked when I'd be ovulating. And he was like 'if you're going to come off the pill we may as well track it and do it properly'. And I was like 'alright, ok'. He's like it will probably take ages."
Laura and Dane had undergone fertility treatment in order to conceive a child, but sadly, IVF didn't work out for them.
Following their split, Laura broke down in tears while appearing on Celebs Go Dating as she spoke about her and Dane trying for a child.
Explaining the sad situation on the E4 series back in November, Laura grabbed a tissue as she spoke about the severity of her split from the singer.
"I think my most recent break-up was the biggest in my life because it was so serious," she said, breaking down in tears.
"I thought that he was 'the one'. We were trying for a baby."
Laura and Dane were on and off for five years before they split for good in August.
The couple had been living together in Dubai after making things official again in 2021, three years after Laura accused the 43-year-old of being unfaithful.
However, their romance wasn't to be, as Laura soon moved on to Gary with the pair now expecting a child together.
On Wednesday, Scottish reality TV star Laura announced the happy news as she posted a montage video of her pregnancy journey so far.
The emotional clip shows Laura having an ultrasound scan and then showing the pics to her adorable Pomeranian pup.
Laura then poses with her Hollyoaks hunk beau Gary, 41, in front of a Christmas tree while wearing matching pyjamas – however, the pair have recently been rumoured to have split.
And more snaps show Laura showing off her beautiful blossoming bump as she poses in a dressing gown.
The pair are then seen attending another scan together in the montage video.
As Laura shared the happy news on her Instagram page, she wrote in the caption: "Our hearts are full Baby Lucy due Summer ‘23".
The tot will be Laura's first but Gary is already a dad to four children from his ex-wife Natasha Gray.
He is dad to India, Elvis, Sadie and Theodore. Gary and Natasha ended their 14-year romance while she was pregnant with their fourth child Theodore in 2018.
