Pregnant Kate Ferdinand 'devastated as she’s forced to cancel dream baby shower'

Pregnant Kate Ferdinand has reportedly been left "devastated" after she was forced to cancel her baby shower plans because of the lockdown in England.

The former TOWIE star, 29, who is expecting a baby boy with husband Rio Ferdinand, is said to be gutted after the government imposed a month of restrictions in a bid to curb the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

An insider has told Heat magazine the lockdown left the reality star in tears when it came into force last week, as it "ruined all [her] plans".

The source told the publication: "She knew she couldn’t have a huge bash, but she was hoping they could still do something with a few friends.

"Of course, she knows how lucky she is, but she cant help but feel upset that she won’t get her big celebration."

Kate is known for her love of lavish parties and extravagant events.

She got engaged to Rio in a spectacular rooftop proposal in Dubai, before throwing a bridesmaid reveal party ahead of their three-day wedding in Turkey last year.

To mark the welcome of 2020, she threw a "crazy' New Year party, ahead of her pregnancy and subsequent elaborate gender reveal event.

"Kate prides herself of throwing and planning really special events," the source went on.

"She’s always gone above and beyond when organising her friends’ baby showers, so she was really looking forward to hers. She’s devastated."

Blossoming Kate has opened up on how she’s struggled with pregnancy as she suffers with with pain in her lower back and groin.

Kate has explained that she is "struggling" as she finds it hard to deal with "losing the ability to move freely”.

Kate and Rio, along with his three children from his first marriage - Tate, 12, Lorenz, 14, and Tia, nine - have been preparing to welcome their newest addition to their family, but the pregnancy has reportedly been a big source of worry for poor Kate.

"Kate’s due in December and is really anxious that lockdown won’t be over,” the source revealed.

"It may mean Rio won’t be able to be with her for the birth. She’s trying not to worry but this is her first baby - who wouldn’t be feeling anxious?"
