Pregnant Jorgie Porter cradles her baby bump at The British Soap Awards after dress drama

Mum-to-be Jorgie Porter suffered a dress drama en-route to The British Soap Awards. The Hollyoaks star last week revealed the joyous news that she is expecting a baby with her fiance Ollie Piotrowski.

Jorgie, who plays Theresa McQueen in the Channel Four soap, shared a video of herself on the train to London as she told fans that she had made a mishap by forgetting her dress for the awards screened on ITV from 8pm. "I'm literally an idiot!!!" she exclaimed from her train seat as the drama unfolded on her Instagram.

She shared a video of herself earlier in the face mask in a car wearing a gold face mask as she wrote: "Here I am all full if meself thinking I'm mint!! Not knowing there's no dress with me!!!!"

Over on Ollie's Instagram he shared a photo of her outfit in a dress bag hanging on the back of a door as he said: "Six months of worrying about a dress and what to wear at these soap awards. She's all packed gone off to the train in London and guess what she's forgot?"

Her man then revealed he had come to her rescue with a video clip that appeared to show the dress packed safely on a train luggage rack on its way to Eccles actress Jorgie. "Cinderella will go to the ball," he wrote.

And, posing later on the red carpet, the 34-year-old looked sensational as she lovingly cradled her bump in an off-the-shoulder elegant white gown. She wore her blonde tresses pulled back from her face to showcase her dress to full effect and finished the look with smokey eyemakeup and a nude lip.

Jorgie wrote 'hopeful beginnings' as she shared an adorable Instagram video showing their hands and their pet Doberman's paws pulling away to reveal a baby scan. And the congratulations came pouring in for the couple who went through the tragic loss of quadruplets last year.

The couple, who celebrated their engagement in February at Morley's Hall, Astley, found love in 2020. Jorgie recently reflected on her Instagram: "We have been through a lot, these past two years … and still managed to laugh with eachother through all the tough times … love you best mate @olliepiotrowski."

Jorgie, 34, who has played Theresa since 2008, shared the exciting news that they were engaged in December. The happy news came a few weeks after the star revealed she had suffered a devastating miscarriage with their quadruplets.

In August she and Ollie were heartbroken to find out at the 14-week scan there was no sign of life in any of the embryo sacs. The actress bravely reflected on their loss on her podcast Loose Lips.

The British Soap Awards will see UK’s biggest soaps compete against each other to bag the night’s variety of awards. Live on ITV and the ITV Hub from 8pm, host Phillip Schofield returns to roll out the red carpet for actors and actresses representing Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.
