Pregnant Halsey opens up on 'terrifying' endometriosis as she shows off baby bump

Halsey has reflected on her "terrifying" struggles with endometriosis and said that if it wasn't for surgeries to help sort it out, she wouldn't have been able to fall pregnant.

The 26-year-old singer has shown off her growing baby bump as she celebrates being with child, when it looked like she may never enjoy being a mother.

She posted a Polaroid style snap on Instagram along with the scars from the surgeries she has undergone to help treat endometriosis.

In a photo on her Instagram Stories, Halsey indicated where she had gone under the knife by drawing two arrows pointing toward her lower abdomen.

She wrote alongside it: "the scars that got me this angel."

She also added the hashtag: "endo warrior."

Halsey had announced that she was pregnant with her first child on Wednesday, surprising fans with a series of maternity pics.

Halsey announced that she's expecting her first child on Wednesday, sharing a trio of maternity photographs on her Instagram.

In the Instagram slideshow, Halsey tagged screenwriter Alev Aydin, who commented, "Heart so full, I love you, sweetness."

Halsey replied: "I love you!!!!! And I love this mini human already!"

She has spoken out about the treatment for her illness in the past and in 2017, posted on Instagram: "Today I braved multiple terrifying surgeries."

The post, which has since been deleted, continued: "The most important of which being the surgery that would hopefully treat my endometriosis.

"For those of you who have followed this battle of mine or who may suffer with it yourself, you know the extremes to which it can be mentally exhausting and physically painful."

Explaining how she was feeling at that time, Halsey wrote: "I'm in total agony right now… (and I'm going to be in excruciating pain for a while cause I had quite the cocktail of procedures today).

"In my recovery I am thinking of all of you and how you give me the strength and stamina to power through and prosper.

"If you suffer from chronic pain or a debilitating disease please know that I have found time to live a crazy, wild, rewarding life AND balance my treatment and I hope so much in my heart that you can too."
