Pregnant Gemma Atkinson tells fans she's 'switching off' ahead of birth of second child after Gorka Marquez's heartfelt message

Gemma Atkinson has temporarily ditched social media as she told fans she is 'switching off' ahead of the birth of her second child. The Hits Radio host has ditched Greater Manchester and headed for sunnier climes alongside her fiance Gorka Marquez and their daughter, Mia.

The trio have jetted off for what Gemma, 38, has previously said will be their last holiday as a family of three after she and Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka, 32, revealed back in January that they are expanding their brood.

The couple shared the joyous news that they were adding a baby boy to their family alongside a string of black and white images posted to their Instagram pages after the mum-to-be said it was "impossible" to hide her growing bump any longer. Since then, Gemma has been keeping her loyal social media followers updated on her pregnancy.

Last month, Gemma told fans that she had entered the pregnancy stage of only wearing sports bras and was in need of new underwear. In a comical video, she said: "I'm off shopping today again. I'm off bra shopping because I'm at the stage I'm just sports bras only at the minute."

And the down-to-earth star, from Bury, added drily: "What else? hairy tummy even though I'm shaving it daily." She continued: "Sweating profusely. Yeah, just the usual stuff that comes with growing a human." Comically placing her mug on her growing bump she added: "That's handy."

She then went on to poke fun at herself as said she also needed new swimwear for a holiday for her growing bump. She joked that she resembled Oswald Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin, from the film Batman Returns. "I looked like Oswald Cobblepot this morning, I tried swimming stuff on. I looked like Danny Devito in Batman," she quipped.

But Gemma appears to have now touched down in sunnier climes as she posted a photo to her Instagram Story. As the sun beamed, the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star looked up past the palm trees and up to the clear blue sky. "Switching off for some much needed family time in paradise," she typed alongside the image.

It comes after Gorka shared a heartfelt message after he finished his latest stint on the road. The professional dancer has been wowing fans alongside his Strictly co-star and dance partner Karen Hauer as they brought their Firedance tour to venues up and down the country.

"Thank you…" Gorka started the caption of his post as she shared a string of black and white snaps of himself and Karen from their show. "Thank you to everyone who came to watch @firedancelive You’ve danced, screamed, clapped and cried with us and allowed us to share our love and passion for dance with you all.

"It really has been an incredible few weeks Touring the UK. We can’t wait to be back next year and visit even more places to perform for you."

He then concluded: "Thanks to each and every person behind the scenes for this production. The teams work ethic and love for the show, as always was 100%. You’re all awesome!!" And fans who had seen the show couldn't help but gush in the comments.
