A doctor who posted a viral picture of herself working at a football game whilst 35 weeks pregnant said she wanted to prove that women can have a "multi-faceted life".
The photo of Megan Meier, who was covering a high school football team game, shows her checking over a player whilst carrying her three-year-old daughter on her back.
"[…] this is what happens when you are 35 weeks pregnant, husband leaves town for the weekend, childcare for 3yo falls through, and you have a game to cover!"
The social media post, called “Sports Doctor Medicine Mum”, has been shared thousands of times online, with users commenting that she was a “hero”, represented “girl power” and was an “inspiration”.
“This is all of us,” she told ABC News, referring to the image.
“As working parents, we often have to multitask in a pinch, and it’s so much easier when people are understanding of this,” she added.
“We don’t make excuses — we find solutions. Fortunately for me, the teams I care for are very supportive of my situation, which has made these types of stressful scenarios so much easier.”
Ms Meier, from Oklahoma City, wrote that she was “overwhelmed” by the positive feedback.
“I really believe that you can have it all and find a great balance to a multi-faceted career and life,” she said.
“However, it takes a lot of hard work and improvisation at times.”
The medicinal doctor, who also works as a physician for local dance troupes, said the originally posted the photo to offer a visual representation of her role to other women physicians, and thanked the strong community of people in her profession.
“We have come a long way in 2016,” she said.
