TOWIE's Chloe Lewis has spoken of her shock and heartbreak after learning she was expecting twins while going through a miscarriage.
The 28-year-old pregnant star, who is due to give birth to the surviving baby in the next few weeks, only found out she was expecting two when she started bleeding in her first trimester.
A scan showed two foetuses in the womb, but the doctor warned that only one was visible - meaning Chloe's chances of carrying both to term were very slim.
"I told her about the bleeding and she said that I probably had lost it," Chloe told OK! magazine.
"The doctor did confirm the twins had been identical. That was so sad for me to hear. I kept thinking this one is going to come out and they would have looked exactly the same."
The reality star, who has been in a relationship with Danny Flasher for two years, said shock soon turned to heartache.
"I grieved for about three months. I felt like I had gone into a hole, like I had lost a child. I felt like I had done something wrong because it was my body. Was I going to the gym too much? You start questioning yourself," she explained.
"It wasn't until Danny said, 'Chloe, you've got to snap out of this, you've got one healthy baby, not everyone gets this.'
"I was supposed to be happy but I was sad because I'd lost one. I was happy some days and sad others. I couldn't be totally happy. After three months, though, I said to myself, 'Right, you've got to sort yourself out.'"
Chloe is now focusing on giving birth later this autumn, but insists she'll always be open with her child about their lost sibling.
"It won't ever be a secret," she added.
Chloe's family recently threw her a baby shower where the likes of Lucy Mecklenburgh arrived at the garden party to celebrate her impending motherhood.
Chloe looked beautiful in a floaty cream off-the-shoulder dress, which showed off her baby bump as she posed with her close friends and family.
