Pregnant Cara Delahoyde to rushed into early labour 'for safety of her and baby'

Pregnant Cara Delahoyde is to undergo an induced labour, Mirror Online can reveal.

Cara, 29, who's expecting her second child and first daughter with husband Nathan Massey, first sparked speculation she would soon give birth with a selfie snapped at the hospital.

This came shortly after she revealed her diagnosis of pre-eclampsia, a complication of blood pressure affecting pregnant women.

Now, Cara's rep has revealed to us that her labour will be induced amid safety concerns for herself and her unborn baby.

The rep told: "I can confirm that due to the pre-eclampsia diagnosis, Cara Delahoyde-Massey has been admitted to hospital to be induced early for the safety of her and her baby."

They added that doting husband Nathan is at the hospital with her.

Cara and Nathan first met on Love Island's 2016 series, cementing their fan favourite status and triumphing in the final with over half the public's vote.

In 2017, the couple welcomed baby boy Freddie, and last year tied the knot in a stunning Kent ceremony.

She recently shared her pre-eclampsia diagnosis, but insisted she wouldn't let it get her down because she can't wait for Freddie to meet his baby sister.

"The last few days have been pretty up & down," she admitted, captioning a snap of her and Freddie, "still not out of the woods yet.

"I have been diagnosed with 'pre-eclampsia' after my local midwife spotted the signs at my appointment yesterday.

"Thank you everyone for all your messages of love & concern, I'm seeing the head consultant tomorrow to see what the next steps are.

"Again a massive thank you to the NHS and all the ladies @darent_valley_hospital.

"But seeing this face & knowing he's going to be a big brother makes it all worth it."

Earlier today, Cara proudly bore her bump as she snapped a selfie from the hospital, Nathan making the peace sign in the background.

"Wild Saturday for mum & dad," the star joked.

Fans were quick to put two and two together, asking Cara if she was OK and wondering whether her labour was to be induced in light of her diagnosis.

"Are they inducing you because of the pre-eclampsia?" one asked.

Others sent their best wishes.

"Hope everything is ok?? Best of luck," one offered.

A third just commented: "OMG are you in labour??!"
