Pregnant BFFs Lucy Mecklenburgh and Lydia Bright enjoy girls' break weeks before due dates

Pregnant BFFs Lydia Bright and Lucy Mecklenburgh have been doing just about everything together.

Just weeks ahead of their due dates, the pregnant BFFs escaped to Newport for a glamorous spa weekend at the Celtic Manor Resort, in Wales on Friday.

All the preparations were underway for Lydia's gorgeous baby shower at the swanky hotel where celebs often stay.

And with her 30th birthday in just a few days time, it was all the more reason to celebrate.

Lydia and Lucy looked happy in each other's company as they posed for a sweet picture.

Pink balloons injected a splash of colour into the room while the venue was being set up for the low-key baby shower.

The mother-to-be was also joined by her mum Debbie as well as a gang of friends for the glittering family affair.

Lydia proudly showed off the delicious sweet treats on offer to guests as well as the booze, although she noted she would be on the alcohol-free wine.

Lydia and Lucy will be expecting to give birth around the same time in February.

The BFFs go way back to when they formed their friendship for life on TOWIE.

They escaped for a baby-moon earlier this year to Greece and a number of their other girlfriends tagged along to celebrate the upcoming births.

Lucy will raise her child with her fiancé Ryan Thomas .

Ryan got down on one knee to propose to his beauty during an escape to Amalfi, not long before Lucy found out she was pregnant.

Meanwhile, Lydia has sadly split from the father of her unborn child Lee Cronin but they have remained friends throughout her pregnancy.

But she claimed her ex-partner wouldn't be any help when it comes to giving birth to her unborn baby whom she refers to as "Dinky".

So that's why the former TOWIE star has also enlisted the help of her mum Debbie as a birthing partner and she wants her daughter to give birth at her home.

At the three-hour long antenatal class, the reality star lamented her ex-boyfriend proved he had a lot left to learn before the birth.

Speaking in podcast episode six Nans and New Beginnings, Lydia shared her frustrations ahead of welcoming her first baby.

She said: "I feel like Lee's going to be useless. When they were giving the presentation [at the antenatal class], they were like 'This is what you've got to do, this is what the dad's have to do, massage the back.'

"She was like, 'Let's do an exercise. You, stand up. Lee, stand up, if she's in pain, where would you massage if she's about to give birth?' He went like that, at the top of my back. She was like 'The baby's not there is it. Where's the baby?' He was like 'It's there.'

"So she was like 'So where would you massage?' And he was like 'I don't understand. Is it a trick question?' Poor Lee. At least he's learning."
