Predicting the Miami Dolphins’ next 100-yard receiver

It’s been a few years now since the Miami Dolphins had a relevant fantasy football player on the roster. That lull continues in 2019 and there’s no real end in sight — the Dolphins offense is largely punchless and doesn’t offer much in the way of a volume player who will command attention in the fantasy community.

The Dolphins, as a team, have not had a single receiver go over 100 total receiving yards since Week 14 of the 2018 season, when former Dolphins WR Kenny Stills totaled 135 yards against the New England Patriots. Stills logged two 100-yard receiving games in 2018 — which is the most for a Dolphins receiver since former Dolphin Jarvis Landry logged five in 2016 (four in the regular season and another vs. Pittsburgh in the Wild Card round).

The question begs to be asked. “Who is next?”

The two prime candidates are obvious: DeVante Parker and Preston Williams. Both have consistently stayed on the field this season and receive the mass volume of targets. But Parker carries more weight to opposing defenses, so our bet is Preston Williams breaks through first. And here’s the best part of our prediction:

Preston Williams will go over 100 receiving yards in Week 6 vs. Washington.

You heard it here first! Washington is 0-4 and has seen a secondary receiver on opposing offenses go for 74+ yards in each of their first four games. Look for Williams to pop a big play and get enough additional volume to get triple digits in Week 6.
