Predicting Kareem Hunt’s workload split with Nick Chubb in the Browns backfield

Throughout the season, the Cleveland Browns have not been very creative play-callers and have tipped their hands frequently. After reviewing some of the Browns’ utilization, they may be tipping us off on how they plan to split the workload moving forward between Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.

Chubb’s workload has already been sliding back over the past couple of games since the bye week. Dontrell Hilliard has seen a steady increase in his snap counts, primarily as the third-down back.

To take this exercise further, Chubb has seen a 70% or better snap share in four out of their eight games.

With the return of Hunt, and an obvious upgrade of talent from Hilliard, the Browns could be moving away from a single workhorse running back situation and more towards a running back-by-committee approach for the remainder of the season.
