Predicted Spurs team vs West Ham: Jose Mourinho to make key changes with youngster on bench

Jose Mourinho made it clear that he will only make slight changes to what Mauricio Pochettino had done before in his new role as Tottenham Hotspur head coach.

However, the international break and injuries will ensure that the new Spurs boss will have to be wary of who is fit and fresh enough to take on West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Predicting Pochettino's teams was tough enough this season but working out what line-up Mourinho will go for in his first ever game in the dugout for the club takes that difficulty to new levels.

He will be without Hugo Lloris, Erik Lamela and Michel Vorm through injury while Jan Vertonghen and Tanguy Ndombele are injury doubts. Mourinho all but ruled Vertonghen out in his press conference on Thursday.

Vorm's injury means Paulo Gazzaniga's back-up on the bench will be one of the academy youngsters Brandon Austin or Alfie Whiteman, with Austin getting the nod before Pochettino's departure.

Then there are those players who returned later from international duty, such as Serge Aurier and Davinson Sanchez. The latter would have only returned on Thursday after a long flight back from the USA where Colombia were playing Ecuador in the early hours of Wednesday morning UK time.

Eric Dier is a player Mourinho admires and has tried to sign and he could retain his place after recent appearances, while Kyle Walker-Peters could well be hoping for a fresh start under the new boss after dropping out of the picture in recent months.

There are also plenty of decisions to be made in the attacking midfield slots with everyone but Lamela available.

Here is the line-up we reckon Mourinho will go for:
(4-2-3-1) Gazzaniga; Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Foyth, Rose; Dier, Winks; Lo Celso, Son, Alli; Kane.
