Predicted Spurs team vs Bayern: Mourinho to unleash exciting young players and make big Son call

Jose Mourinho has to find a balance on Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena in that he wants to give some Tottenham Hotspur players game time but also put out a team that will not be heavily beaten once again by Bayern Munich.

Bayern are expected to go with a strong team to finish the group stages in style with Robert Lewandowski likely to lead the line and many of their stars involved.

While Mourinho will not want his players haunted by a revisit of their 7-2 humbling in Tottenham, he also has a tough Premier League match on Sunday to think about after this game, which ultimately will not affect the group standings.

With that in mind the Spurs head coach has already decided to leave Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Jan Vertonghen and Serge Aurier at home.

He also has Ben Davies (ankle), Erik Lamela (hamstring), Hugo Lloris (elbow), Tanguy Ndombele (groin), Michel Vorm (calf) and Harry Winks (ankle) all out injured meaning 10 players will miss the match in Germany.

Mourinho must then decide just how many more regular starters he can afford to drop from the line-up.

Summer signings Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon need game time along with Danny Rose.

The Tottenham boss also has young players in Juan Foyth, Troy Parrott, Oliver Skipp, Japhet Tanganga and Kyle Walker-Peters who are pushing for minutes.

There is also Christian Eriksen, who is yet to start a match in the Mourinho era.

Mourinho must also decide whether he can afford to lose Son Heung-min from the line-up against such a good team or whether it's more important to protect him for the match at Wolves at the weekend.

Here is how we reckon Tottenham will line up against Bayern at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night:

(4-2-3-1) Gazzaniga; Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Foyth, Rose; Dier, Skipp; Lo Celso, Eriksen, Sessegnon; Lucas.
