Predicted Premier League table based on performances - and it's good news for Manchester United and Man City

With eight games gone in the Premier League, there is plenty to talk about with Liverpool comfortably ahead of Manchester City, while other clubs are struggling to perform.

Manchester United, Tottenham and Everton are among the high-profile clubs with languishing form, but while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side and the Toffees can claim they should be higher in the table, Spurs’ issues have been laid bare.

Football website Infogol has predicted the final Premier League table based on performances, putting each team where they ‘deserve’ to be based on their showings in each match.

The website’s model assessed the chances that each team creates and concedes in every Premier League match, then simulating the chance of getting each result to estimate the expected number of points.

After the number-crunching, City lead the way ahead of Chelsea - while United rise to third, ahead of actual leaders Liverpool .

Arsenal, sat third in the real table, drop to eighth and Tottenham find themselves hovering outside the relegation zone, while Everton fly up from the bottom three into fifth.

At the bottom, it is Norwich, Newcastle and West Ham who have the most to worry about based on their performances so far.
