Predicted Man City line-up against Leeds United as Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne eye recalls

Leeds United continue their difficult festive period of fixtures with a trip to the Premier League champions Manchester City.

The Whites will be looking to return to winning ways after their frustrating 3-2 defeat to Chelsea at the weekend, when Jorginho’s stoppage time penalty prevented them from earning a point.

City have made an excellent start to retaining their Premier League crown as they sit top of the table, having won their last six matches.

Pep Guardiola has an almost fully fit squad to choose from this evening, with Joao Cancelo the only man from Saturday’s squad set to miss out after picking up his fifth booking of the season against Wolves.

That means that Kyle Walker is likely to return at right-back, with Oleksandr Zinchenko retaining his place on the other side.

In the middle of defence, John Stones will be pushing for a recall, although Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias has been Guardiola’s first-choice pairing so far this season.

With Ferran Torres the only injury absentee in attack and midfield, the City boss will face a number of selection dilemmas this evening.

Although Ilkay Gundogan has been passed fit to play, given his recent back problems, Kevin de Bruyne is likely to return in midfield as he continues to build his fitness again following his bout of Covid-19.

Bernardo Silva’s superb form this season should see him retain his place meaning he will almost certainly be handed a start alongside Rodri and de Bruyne.

In attack could be where Guardiola rotates the most, with Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez pushing to start. Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus was his chosen trio at the weekend.

Predicted Man City line-up (4-3-3): Ederson; Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Rodri, Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva; Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling
