Predicted Championship final table and what it means for Nottingham Forest

Here is a glimpse six months into the future at the Championship final standings.

Or, at least, the best forecast possible thanks to the number crunching of leading match analysts infogol.

The data specialists look objectively at the strengths and weaknesses of every team and work out the probabilities for what is to come.

It is all based on percentages and, when looked at all together, there is a working hypothesis for how the table is shaping up - from how far Chris Hughton can drag Nottingham Forest up the table to whether Reading can sustain their start.

It's good news for relegated duo Bournemouth and Watford, who are currently most likely to end up in the top two. Bad luck Brentford, currently in ninth, who will pay the price for a slow start again and finish third.

Norwich, Millwall and Swansea are forecast to complete the top six.

Reading, who are four points clear sitting pretty at the top as almost everything they've hit so far this season has gone in, are on the way to finishing in eighth.

At the other end of the table, Derby County are expected to climb out of the relegation zone but they won't escape by much. It's 20th position which is forecast.

Hughton, despite Forest winning only one of the opening nine, is on course to lift the club up to 16th.

Sheffield Wednesday will pull themselves off the bottom - but that combination of form and points deduction means they are still doomed to League One.

Coventry and Wycombe are on the way to going straight back to where they came from just a few weeks ago.

How about the bookies?

Bournemouth and Brentford are the hot favourites to win promotion, followed by Norwich, Watford and Swansea.

At the bottom, it looks like two places are already sewn up. Wycombe are huge odds on while Wednesday are evens.

Latest Championship promotion odds: Bournemouth, Brentford 11/10, Norwich 6/5, Watford 9/4, Swansea 7/2, Reading, Stoke 9/2, Blackburn, Millwall 11/2, Middlesbrough 7/1, Nottingham Forest 16/1.

Latest Championship relegation odds: Wycombe 1/12, Sheffield Wednesday 1/1, Rotherham 5/2, Derby 11/4, Coventry 3/1, QPR, 9/2, Luton 5/1, Barnsley, 6/1, Birmingham, Huddersfield 7/1, Nottingham Forest 12/1
