Liverpool's hopes of winning any silverware this season are over - but there is still plenty to play for.
The Reds won a League Cup and FA Cup double in the 2021-22 but did not get beyond the fourth round in either competition after defeats by Manchester City and Brighton.
Jurgen Klopp's men reached the Champions League final last year were they lost 1-0 to Real Madrid at the Stade de France in Paris.
The La Liga giants proved to be Liverpool's European Cup nemesis again this season as they knocked them out in the last 16 with a 6-2 aggregate success, having come from behind to win the first leg 5-2 at Anfield.
It has left Klopp attempting to rouse his players for a final push in the Premier League to ensure they are in European football's elite competition next season.
The Reds have played 26 games and are currently sixth in the table - seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham albeit with two games in hand on Antonio Conte's side.
However, fifth-placed Newcastle are a further five points ahead of Klopp's side having played the same number of games.
"We want to be in the Champions League every year and it is a massive task for us [to finish fourth] and we know that," Klopp said recently.
"After the international break, we have a proper week ahead of us - Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal. That will probably define what we get out of the season."
