Predict how Manchester United will fare in next six fixtures until Christmas

Manchester United recorded a much-needed win against Brighton to head into the international break in seventh place in the Premier League.

The 3-1 win on Sunday was welcomed for a number of reasons, not least because it put an end to a poor run of one win from United's last six league outings.

However, a defeat on Sunday would have sent Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side as low as 14th in the Premier League table. The league is so close this season in mid-table, just six points separates 11 teams between Sheffield United in fifth and West Ham in 16th.

United are just a point off fifth, and can strengthen their challenge for a European spot in the build-up to Christmas when they face Sheffield United, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Man City, Everton and Watford before December 25.

There are also Astana and AZ Alkmaar and Colchester between now and Christmas, but with Europa League qualification already secured and League Two opposition in the Carabao Cup, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can focus resources onto a run in the league.
