Predatory eagle owl on the loose as owner puts out appeal

The owner of a predatory eagle owl has put out an appeal to trace it after the bird went missing.

Eight-year-old Amber, who is described as 'very dangerous', is believed to be somewhere in Lower Blantyre.

The owl hasn't been seen by the owner since last week, however there have been reported sightings of her in the area since.

Jim McGuire shared a post on Facebook which reads: "This bird is missing and it's somewhere in Lower Blantyre.

"Please don't go near it as its very dangerous. It's an eagle owl, a top predator.

"If think you can catch her, throw a large towel over her [for] a reward for her return."

Speaking to Glasgow Live, Jim added: "Her name is Amber, she is eight years old, hand-reared and very aggressive if you go near her.

"She is ringed and has a tracker."
