It’s very understandable for Washington Redskins fans to see the words ‘Injury Report’ and cringe a bit, but on Wednesday’s pre-training camp edition, there is nothing unexpected.
Jay Gruden met with the media on Wednesday afternoon and discussed where things stand ahead of Day 1 of training camp, and a big piece of that regards who is going to be taking the field on Thursday.
It is great news to see that Guice will not be limited to start the year, especially after a rumored hamstring injury threw his availability into question over the past month. Beyond that, it is no surprise to see Smith, Brailford, and Johnson on the Physically Unable to Perform list, while Love will not count against the 53-man roster while on the NFI list.
Of course, it’s early, and no snaps have been taken yet. But a relatively clean injury report headed into camp is exactly what fans want to see.
