Pranksters try to close Leeds school for the day with fake tweet

Pranksters from a Leeds academy tried to close their school for the day using social media.

A photoshopped Tweet that appeared to be from the official account for Crawshaw Academy, in Pudsey, circulated online declaring the school would be closed on Tuesday due to 'technical difficulties'.

The rogue tweet, posted just after 4pm on Monday, said: "School will be closed on Tuesday the 24th of September 2019. This is due to a technical difficulties making lessons unable to go ahead."

But less than an hour later the real Crawshaw Academy Twitter account set the record straight.

A tweet just after 5pm from the @CrawshawAcademy account said: "Subject to some great photoshopping to create a fake tweet, we can confirm school is OPEN AS USUAL tomorrow. Apologies for any inconvenience."

Foiled, guys!
