Praise for Martin O'Neill's enthusiasm with Nottingham Forest's youngsters

Chris Cohen says the regular presence of Martin O'Neill at Nottingham Forest Under-23s games is a massive boost to the club's young players.

O'Neill is a near ever present at development games along with his staff, including assistant manager Roy Keane.

Cohen, who coaches the team under Jimmy Gilligan, says that is a shift in approach from O'Neill's predecessor Aitor Karanka and other former bosses - and it is a change he welcomes.

"Everyone has been brilliant who has come down from the first team, whether it's Liam Bridcutt, Jamie Ward or anyone else" said Cohen after Bridcutt and Ward played against Swansea on Friday afternoon.

"You see all the first team staff come to pretty much all our games home and away, which is incredible for the boys.

"It's a massive difference to old regimes. That's nothing against Aitor or anything like that, but Martin turns up every single week pretty much.

"That's great for the players because there's pressure to go out and impress the first team manager.

"Overall they've handed that really well."
