Three of April’s bigger game launches have now received their first critic scores, and Pragmata has opened the strongest of the group. Metacritic currently has Pragmata at 86, ahead of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire at 81 and Replaced at 79.
On OpenCritic, Pragmata is currently rated “Mighty,” while Replaced and MOUSE: P.I. For Hire both sit in the “Strong” tier.

Pragmata ended up being another successful 2026 release for Capcom after the phenomenal launch of Resident Evil Requiem. The game comes out on April 17 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Early reviews have praised the game’s hacking-and-shooting structure, its fast combat, and the dynamic between Hugh and Diana. The weaker points showing up in the majority of the critical reviews are a repetitive combat loop in places, a cluttered HUD, and a story that’s simply not as good as the gameplay.

Replaced opened a tier lower, but still on the positive side. The game launched on April 14 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, while also being available in Game Pass on Day 1. The game had a fairly tumultuous development cycle, with several delays and other setbacks.
It didn’t end up being a smashing critical success, but most reviews agree on the pixel art being phenomenal, the alternate-1980s cyberpunk setting, and the cinematic combat presentation also being strong points, but some reviews also mention rougher later sections and polish issues, as well as repetitive gameplay and weak platforming sections.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire has also opened well, and its current aggregate puts it between the other two. The game is coming out on April 16 on all major platforms, and the reviews have largely focused on the same strengths players expected from the trailers.
The 1930s rubber-hose look is praised by everyone, but the game stands on its own even without relying on it, as fast-paced shooting, strong movement tools, and a noir setup make it stand out.
With Replaced already out, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire arriving April 16, and Pragmata following on April 17, this is one of the more crowded three-day stretches of the month, with all these games trying to grab your attention. Additionally, the pirate-themed survival crafting game Windrose was released in early access, while the end of the month will see PlayStation’s heavy-hitter, Saros.
