Practice makes perfect for Livingston in win over Celtic

Livingston boss Gary Holt says one of the most pleasing aspects of his side's shock win over Celtic was the fact that the opening goal came straight from the training ground.

Robbie Crawford's defence-splitting pass found Scott Robinson unmarked inside the box with the ex-Hearts man slamming the ball home to give the Lions the lead early in the second half.

Lyndon Dykes would then go on to add to Livi's lead with a delicate chip over Fraser Forster as they claimed a famous 2-0 victory - their first ever over the Hoops.

Speaking to the West Lothian Courier, Holt said: "It's pleasing because it's a pattern that we work on in training. It's things that we've been doing and it gives you more of a smile and that wee happy feeling when something that you've worked on then works in the game.

"It's a great finish and it's a great ball. The pass deserved the finish and I was delighted for wee Rab and Robbo.

"With Lyndon, he'd missed a similar type of chance in the Rangers game and we'd been working with him on that. It was a great instinctive finish."

He added: "The manner of the defeat the previous week to Hamilton was sore and we wanted a reaction. We spoke as a group about areas we wanted to improve on and thankfully come the Sunday, they put it all into practice."
