Former Thai League 1 champions SCG Muang Thong United saw their six-game winning streak come to a halt at their home ground when they were edged 2-1 by PT Prachuap on Sunday night.
It is the second time the Kirins have lost to Prachuap. Their first meeting had ended in a 6-1 hammering and prompted their coach Totchtawan Sripan to resign immediately after the match.
The visitors got off well as Amorn Thammanam put them ahead in the 21st minute with a long shot.
Heberty Fernandes equalised for the hosts in the 66th minute, but Prachuap hit back 10 minutes later through a Jonatan Reis header which sealed the fate of the match.
Despite the loss, Muang Thong stayed put in fourth place behind leaders Buriram United, Bangkok United and Port. Prachuap held on to the fifth spot.
Meanwhile, Totchtawan returned to full-time coaching for the first time since leaving the Kirins and his first game in charge of Police Tero ended in a 1-1 home draw with Chainat last night.
Diouf Bireme scored the first for the visitors in the 54th minute but their lead was annulled Marcos Vinicius only six minutes later.
Brazilian striker Cleiton Silva scored two goals to help Suphanburi pick up three points, beating Navy 3-1. Takafumi Akahoshi netted the other Suphanburi goal while Athibodi Etirat scored visiting Navy's only goal.
Also last night, relegation-threatened Bangkok Glass upset Chonburi 7-4 and Chiang Rai United won 4-0 at Ratchaburi Mitr Phol.
