PR boss nominated for Women's Enterprise Scotland honour

The founder and managing director of a growing public relations agency has been nominated in the Women's Enterprise Scotland Awards 2019 .

Nathalie Agnew, who founded Muckle Media from her kitchen table with £1,000 in the bank, has been nominated in the Business Leader and Emerging Business Leader in the awards.

She founded the award winning agency in Dingwall in 2012, with it now operating in Edinburgh and Inverness.

The all female team – which she says is “by coincidence not design” - works with clients including the Scottish Government, Historic Environment Scotland, Crowne Plaza Hotels and the Benromach Distillery.

The agency's services include public and media relations, mareketing and social media consultancy.

Agnew has built the business thorugh organic growth and thrrough the acquisition of Platform PR, whose former MD Jane Cumming now works for Muckle Media as a consultant.

She has grown Muckle Media's turnover by more than 300 per cent over the past four years and it now turns over in excess of £600,000.. The agency now employs 11 people across its three offices.

A key focus for Agnew as leader of the business is in training and development of her staff, withegviht of the team including Agnew currently working towards a Level Six diploma in marketing.

Recent innovations include the introduction of an “unlimited holiday allowance” and flexible working.

Agnew is keen to promote women-led businesses and has recently become an ambassador for Women's Enterprise Scotland.

Entries for the Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards close on Friday 28 June.

There are eight other awards in addition to the Buseinss Leader and Emerging Business Leader categories. They are the Start Up Award, Best Rural Based Business, Growth Business, Invested Business, Innovator of the Year, Board Member, Best Social Enterprise and Business of the Year.
