Powerhouse stands out as Notts County throw everything in the way of Northampton Town to snatch point

Ryan Schofield: Kicking was a bit hit and miss early on but got better as the game progressed. Red card after half-time was deserved, but it was either that or let Powell score. 5

Mitch Rose: Outstanding performance from the midfielder who gave Notts the lead with a stunning strike from 25 yards which capped off a fine individual display. A real powerhouse. 9

Richard Duffy:  Defended really well for large parts as he opted for safety first, but got a yellow card for protesting some gamesmanship from Northampton in the first half.  Brilliant in the second half. 8

Sam Stubbs: Got caught a couple of times in possession and it was from his poor back pass that led to Schofield’s red card and it was entirely avoidable. He will learn. 6

Matt Tootle: Some really poor defensive clearances early on helped Northampton apply some pressure. Was put under some pressure and did his best to stand up to it. 6

Jim O’Brien: Showed energy and usual tenacity in the middle of the pitch. Was one moment when he could have slipped a pass into Hemmings but got caught in two minds. 6

Michael Doyle: Rattled into the challenges and seemed to be here, there and everywhere. Couple of errant passes blotted his copybook, but overall was solid. 7

Rob Milsom: Had a really good game at left-back  and got forward whenever he could to support the attack. Dealt well with the threat that came down his side. 7

Kane Hemmings: Produced one memorable run to relieve the pressure as he was deployed on the left-hand side and scored a crucial equaliser for his 13th of the season. 7

Jon Stead: Came up against a man mountain in Aaron Pierre and did his best to unsettle the brutish defender. Produced a brilliant cross for Hemmings’ goal. 7

Enzio Boldewijn: Showed a couple of flashes of quality, but was never really given an opportunity to drive at the defence. Was subbed after Schofield's sending off. 5

Ross Fitzsimons (Boldewijn 49): Made a good save to deny Sam Foley and helped Notts see out a barrage of Northampton pressure. 6

Pierce Bird (Stead 70): Produced some excellent block tackles in what was an impressive 20 minutes  he was on the pitch.  Helped his side immensely. 7

Craig Mackail-Smith (Hemmings 87): Only had  a short time on the pitch but drove a shot wide from 30 yards and chased everything. 6

Not used: Gomis, Vaughan, Alessandra, Barclay.
