Powerful tribute video showcases "giant spirit" of Northern Ireland during lockdown

A video has been made in a special tribute to the people of Northern Ireland during lockdown.

The Tourism NI video showcases the natural beauty of Northern Ireland - as well as the thousands of citizens keeping up their "Giant Spirit" during lockdown.

The 1 minute 40 second film is narrated by Ian McElhinney, who has voiced previous Tourism NI campaigns and is a gesture designed to raise spirits and "send a small message of hope and resilience" to the community.

Some of Northern Ireland's most famous landmarks are shown in the video, from the Giant's Causeway to Harland and Wolf's iconic yellow crane.

Also shown in the video is the Derry Girls mural which has recently been modified to show the four girls wearing protective face masks.

But the video also shows several videos of Northern Irish citizens continuing to keep up the cheerful disposition that our country is famous for.

Several clips show children holding up signs in support of the NHS and key workers, while other videos show people of all ages chatting to family and relatives via video chat.

In the heartwarming video, Ian McElhinney narrates: "We are a land that in times of need, stands strong.

"We'll get through this, just like everything else.

"We'll keep our spirits up and raise the spirits of those around us.

"We will get through this - together,"
