Powerball lottery winner Edwin Castro has been seen shopping for luxury tables after winning an astonishing $2billion jackpot.

The 30-year-old was eyeing up brand new furniture in Los Angeles, US, after he banked the biggest lottery prize in American history which led him to purchase a luxury $25million home in the Hollywood Hills.

The billionaire was captured deep in conversation with a woman, who was reported to be an interior designer specialist, outside the Pacific Design Centre in West Hollywood last week.

He arrived at at the location in a chauffeur-driven black SUV before getting out to greet the woman - with the pair spending an hour inside discussing luxury tables.

At one stage, he was seen testing a pool table as he leaned over the table and took a shot with a cue.

He was seen chatting to staff and joking around on shuffleboards as he chatted to the employees at 11 Raven Billiards supply store.

The lottery winner won't have to worry about space in the home as he has over 13,5578 square-foot to play with along with three storeys

He has seven bedrooms, and even has a 'Batcave-style' entrance, which contains a garage, a gym, a wine cellar and an infinity pool as well as a game room bar and fitness studio.

In addition, he has a dry sauna, steam shower in the stunning property.

The stunning house also features double-height glass stairwell, two fire pits, and a built-in outside barbecue area looking over the Hollywood Hills.

Prior to his last shopping outing, Edwin was seen driving a vintage $250,000 Porsche after leaving a bank with an envelope which contained a wad of cash.

Edwin has also splashed out on a new $4million home in his hometown of Altadena, which has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and over 4,361 square feet of living space.

The lottery winner chose not to attend a press conference to announce his winnings as he wanted to keep under the radar.

However, California state law requires lottery winners to disclose their full names.

The winner reportedly lived in a run-down Altadena home, which was opposite the petrol station where he purchased the life-changing ticket.

Joe Chahayed, owner of Joe's Service Centre who sold him the lucky ticket, has also pocketed $1million before tax - but decided to give the winnings to his 11 grandchildren.

The businessman was back at work the following day at 6am with Joe insisting it was the biggest ticket he's ever sold.

He told The Sun: "We've had quite a few lottery winners at our stations, but this is the biggest on earth, no ticket is bigger than this."

Despite the billionaire refusing to publicly discuss the winnings, a representative for him said: "As much as I am shocked and ecstatic to have won the Powerball drawing, the real winner is the California public school system.

"The mission of the California Lottery, which is to provide supplemental funding for California public education, both public schools and colleges, makes this a huge win for the state.

"As someone who received the rewards of being educated in the California public education system, it's gratifying to hear that as a result of my win, the California school system greatly benefits as well."

California State Lottery Director Alva V. Johnson confirmed the Powerball win raised $156.3million for the public school system in the state.
